Compare and Contrast

Miniver Cheevy and Richard Cory is both a person suffering from inner turmoil, one who is rich and one who is poor. One who dreamed to be somebody and one who wished for someone who could understand him. They are both trying to be somebody they are not. 

Miniver Cheevy is someone who is convinced that the grass is greener on the other side. He dreams of living in a world full of fantasy which far from the world he is living. He blames fate and wastes his life away on alcohol. However, Richard Cory is someone who has everything a man could ask for. He lives in a world where Miniver wanted to and he has everything Miniver ask for. But Richard Cory is not satisfied and not happy with what he has. Though everyone envies him for what he has, still he wanted to be somebody he is not. 

They both needed help from someone. Unfortunately, the help they are looking where never been found. That is why they both blame fate and their life.

Descriptive Essay

            No one really knows what you were thinking or what they are thinking. That is why some of us tend to be somebody in order to be understood by others. But have you ever think, why we tend to do this kind of thing? Why we try to be somebody we are not?

           Living here on Earth for almost 17 years, I had already encounter different kind of personality, including the person suffering from what they call “inner turmoil”. I had this friend way back then. She had almost everything that girl could ask for. The wits, the wealth and the beauty. However, she came from a broken family. She’s living with his father who could not take good care of her and who could not be with her for 24/7. Her mom died when she was still at the age of five and only her nanny could take care of her. Due to this situation, she had found what she’s looking for from her friends, from us. Nevertheless, we had noticed that we really does not knew her well. She tends to imitate who we are and she is trying to be someone. And we really feel that she is having a problem that she could not really talk with us. She is hiding something from us. 

            That is why, together with my other friends, we had a talked with her, a talked that would somehow change her and would open her true identity. And that change her. It felt good to have helped someone who is in need. I felt like I have save someone’s life. It made me realize that having a communication with someone is a great help to ease the pain we felt inside.

Beauty and the Beast

       I remember when I was still a child, the story Beauty and the Beast was one of my favorite movies. It does not only depict a different kind of love story but it does touch the heart of an innocent child. At a very young age, I had understood well this story because in this story Beauty became the hero who had saved Beast from danger.

      The story entails a lot of moral. Beauty played the role of a heroin, not only to Beast but also to her father. She had sacrificed his own life and freedom for her father’s freedom. Beauty was an intelligent, independent, and respectable young woman which is a fit role model for any child. While Beast is a symbol of prejudice, that people who are not as attractive as others have are looked at as different. He had proved that love is not looking through the outside appearance of a person, but looking beyond the outside.

      In this story I have learned one simple thing we people should learn how to accept people whether they are or not beautiful and trying to see the inside instead of just simply loving the outside look. We people tend to be cruel on those people that are different from the normal. We sometimes forget that they also have feelings and they get hurt. We must be able to learn that a beauty without the good character is always nothing.

Yes, the Zone of Proximal Development can serve as a guide for curricular and lesson planning. It is stated that a child can learn from an adult pattern and can slowly development certain tasks by their selves. Meaning, through observing ones action, a teacher could easily develop some strategies that would eventually help their students in grasping the lesson easily. They could also have the scaffolding technique in their lesson strategies.

·        Out-of-school experiences should be related to the child's school experience.

We all know that students do not only learn in the classroom but also on their environment. So, it is important that we, as future educators, should have some strategies and techniques that are related to what they have experience outside the classroom. We should also set some examples that the students could connect to their prior knowledge or past experiences.

My Philosophy In Education

My philosophy in education is just simple. I believe that every student have the right to have a fair approach when it comes to education. It doesn’t matter if they are rich or poor, smart or not so, foreigner or not, single or married, old or young, catholic or not. What’s important is that we will be able to help them in discovering their full potential, strengths and weaknesses and help them in understanding some real world experiences. In this way, we will be able to expose them in some different cultures and let them experience some opportunity that they would not be able to experience.

Beside, being English major, my philosophy includes helping and inspiring our future youth that you don’t need to be a foreigner for you to speak English fluently and with accent. I am envisioning that every student in this country will be held as one of the best speakers in the world. Not only that, but I also have a dream that we could surpass the other raises when it comes in to our speaking ability. 

Furthermore, as a future educator, we should always have the PATIENCE and LOVE in our students. We all know that being a teacher is a noble profession. But this profession has great responsibility. Aside from being a teacher alone, you should also be their second parent. Students spend most of their time in school than at home. Therefore, whatever they had learned at school will also be applied at their home at to their society. That is why teachers must be patience because you’ll not only be teaching one or more students but you will be also the mother of the whole class with different races, attitudes and religion. Teachers must have the heart of a parent towards their children, a heart of a friend that understands and corrects their wrong doings.

Teachers should also be flexible enough in accepting the changes that’s occurring the society. We all know that the only constant thing in the world is change. Students learn in different ways that is why teachers should also adopt in the different kind of strategies that their students need. 

It is important that every student should have the greatest education that will not only focus on their curriculum but could help them in developing the skills that they have and in discovering their full potential and some new skills and abilities that needs to be polish. Students should have the appropriate exposure to some things in order for them to achieve what they really needed to achieve.
